Job Description - Software and Application Tester

This position is responsible for testing near real time data processing M2M application performing various data validation and aggregation. The responsibility includes developing and documenting comprehensive test plans and test cases for unit and system level testing for both functional and non-functional requirements to ensure that the software will perform according to the design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design test plans and test cases specific for client server near real time C Sharp application that processes large data sets in the SQL data base.
  • Create and design test scenarios for the testing of software to ensure the quality of the application.
  • Receive, interpret, and document error reports from the users then trouble shoot, replicate and/or assess then enhance and ensure the quality of the test plans and procedures.
  • Keep up to date with standards and requirements of software quality assurance as stipulated by software testing organizations
  • Develop and implement software functionality and regression tests
  • Prepare reports on defects and problems that arise during software tests
  • Track reported problems and defects for fixes and resolutions.
  • Recommend test and automation tools.

  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of methods and processes used in quality assurance of software programs
  • Knowledge and skills in SDLC
  • Knowledge and skills in modern test methodologies
  • Well developed analytical skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Proven problem solving skills

Educational Background and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in the software development and/or testing
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and IT related field
  • Training in Java, C#, C++ and XML
